No doubt there are more exciting ways to get to know each other than through email, but don't worry, we’ll do our best not to bore you.

The idea is to introduce ourselves through a short series of emails. We'll tell you everything: Who we are, where we live, our credit card pin numbers…

Above all, we'll tell you our story, the mission we've set ourselves and our strategy for achieving it.

These will land in your inbox over the next few days and are significantly more interesting than the back of a cereal packet.

First things first: the team. There's Will, Rod, Marion, Max, another Max, Camille, Tanguy and 40-odd others. We've been working on Asphalte since 2016, and we're not going to stop until we've made sustainability accessible.

We're waging this campaign from Bordeaux, a small town with seemingly more Parisians than Paris, more surfers than Australia and more great wines than anywhere else. That last bit’s true anyway.

At this stage, you're probably wondering what we make. Good question.

Clothes that stand the test of time and don't cost an arm and a leg. Simple.

We want to offer a real alternative to clothes that are disposable or overpriced or both. A responsible range made up of top-quality clothes that won't fail you in quality or style. Too much to ask for?

Here’s the crux of it: we bypass the traditional sales model and its 1,001 intermediaries, and co-create items that you actually want.

In our view, this is the best way of producing the really important items - the heavy lifters that you spend your life in - at the best quality and price.
